The Fight for Rights, yesterday, today, tomorrow The professions in the world which have tens of millions of members, are in the international community, a socio-economic factor whose importance far exceeds the number of their representatives. They congregate around shared values and common core criteria of practice: high-level training, competence, independence, responsibility, ethics and confidentiality. These values and criteria, in effect, are independent of the way the Professions are practised. Every independent professional is obligated to search for the common good. Services meet the needs of citizens and ensure the implementation of their fundamental rights: Access to counselling, law, health It is the same as regards the freedom of the individual and the security of Companies, whose core values are defended by the professions. Hence, since the formation of the WUP in 1987, many actions and involvement with national and international institutions: ILO, WTO, WIPO, UNESCO, are conducted to address the problems faced by independent professionals in the world. It is now chaired by Mr. Francisco Antonio Feijo, lawyer, accountant and Chairman of the NDC (Confederação Nacional das Profissões Liberais - Brazil). May this "Fight for Rights" continue.
